- A garden based directly on the Russian writer's own garden at his country estate outside Moscow. Chekhov, a doctor, conservationist, as well as playwright, grew apples, cherries, flowers, herbs and vegetables in traditional informal dacha style. His garden is framed by carved Russian fretwork. It is fitting that the garden's new home is at the College Surgery in Cullompton, Devon.
